3. Iowa State Fair adds doctor to medical response team (kcci.com) — Des Moines firefighters had backup from an emergency medicine resident at this year's Iowa State Fair, marking the first time a physician joined the city's fire crews on‑site. 4. Iowa skydiver injured in plunge to ground expected to recover (press-citizen.com subscription) — A member of Des Moines Skydiving is expected to recover after a serious skydiving accident near Knoxville that left her with a fractured tailbone and required airlift to a Des Moines hospital.
