• Authorities find body of missing boater in Des Moines River (desmoinesregister.com subscription) — Emergency crews have recovered the body of Windsor Heights resident James Michael, who went overboard on the Des Moines River near Saylor Township and was later found near Prospect Park in Polk County. Authorities had suspended their multi-day search shortly before a separate call led them to his body, which has been taken to the county medical examiner for further review.
