Des Moines City Observes Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday

Des Moines City Administration Buildings are currently closed to the public through at least March 1, 2021.

DES MOINES, IOWA – Friday, January 15, 2021 – The City will observe the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday on Monday, January 18, 2021.

Due to concerns surrounding the coronavirus (COVI-19) outbreak, Des Moines City Administration Buildings are currently closed to the public through at least March 1, 2021. Garbage, recycling and yard waste collection will be delayed by one day for the rest of the week due to the holiday. For more information, visit DSM.city/holidayschedule. All locations of the Des Moines Public Library will be closed on Monday, January 18. The annual Forest Avenue Library MLK Day Celebration will take place virtually.
