Lincoln, Hoover/North Grapplers Qualify For State Wrestling In Des Moines Public School

Congratulations to a trio of grapplers from Lincoln and the combined Hoover/North teams on qualifying for this week’s Iowa State Wrestling Tournament.

DMPS wrestlers who will be competing at the state meet are:

• 113: Aime Mukiza, senior – North
• 170: Mickey Griffith, junior – Lincoln
• 285: Orlando Fuentes, senior – North

Griffith is the defending State champion in Class 3A in the 170lb division. For Mukiza, it is his fourth time qualifying for the state tournament.

The state wrestling tournament is at Wells Fargo Arena this Thursday through Saturday. For more information, visit the Iowa High School Athletic Association’s web site.
