DES MOINES, IA - After a weekend of deadly weather, severe storms hit parts of the Midwest and South on Tuesday evening. Officials warned residents to have shelter before going to bed after at least one tornado was confirmed.

The National Weather Service began issuing tornado warnings on Tuesday in Iowa and Illinois. Officials even confirmed sightings of twister just southwest of Chicago near Bryant, Illinois. Thankfully no immediate damage was reported.

This news comes just days after at least 32 people were killed by dozens of tornados. Parts of Missouri, southwestern Oklahoma and northeastern Texas are all on high alert and farther south and west fire danger remains high.
