🌱 Teen Arrested In Crash That Caused Fire + Bobcat In Westwood

  1. An Ankeny teen has been arrested in connection with the car crash that burned down a woman's home on Dec. 20. 18-year-old Miguel Delos Reyes is believed to have been driving the car that crashed into the side of the home. Reyes allegedly fled the scene of the crash but was identified by other occupants from the vehicle.(KCCI Des Moines)
  2. A big cat was spotted in a Des Moines neighborhood this weekend thanks to one homeowner's doorbell camera footage. The Iowa Department of Natural Resources said the animal spotted slinking through the city's Westwood neighborhood is most likely a bobcat. A spokesperson for the department said that to his knowledge, there has not been a documented bobcat attack of a human in Iowa in recent history. (KCCI Des Moines)
  3. Ottumwa High School students collected over 2,000 pounds of food to donate to the Food Bank of Iowa in just two weeks. Student council members organized the food drive, citing a desire to give back to the organization that helps the community. The students added that the Food Bank of Iowa is always looking for volunteers to help sort food. (ktvo.com)
