The teenager is now being charged with first-degree murder. (KCCI Des Moines)
- Des Moines residents who have their trash collected by Metro Waste Authority can recycle their Christmas trees for free. All ornaments and other decorations must be removed from the trees, and trees must have a "Compost It!" bag or sticker in order to be collected. Metro Waste Authority will pick up the trees curbside during regular trash collection days until Jan. 7. (Local 5 - weareiowa.com)
