• Child pedestrian killed in Iowa vehicle crash (northiowatoday.com) — Indianola residents are reeling after a juvenile pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle Sunday evening in the 400 block of West 18th Place, despite bystanders and first responders performing CPR and calling LifeFlight. Police say both the victim and driver are juveniles, and the Iowa State Patrol has taken over the still‑ongoing investigation.

Sep. 29, 2026 (kxel.com) — A 17-year-old pedestrian from Indianola was struck by a vehicle on West 18th Place Sunday and died at the scene despite extensive lifesaving efforts. State Patrol is investigating how the crash happened, and authorities have not yet released the teen's name or said whether any charges are expected.
