A Couple of Cool Places in Iowa City to Hang Out
The City of Iowa City suggests those in search of escaping the heat go to the Iowa City Rec Center or Mercer Pool.

With temperatures predicted to get even hotter on Wednesday before cooling down (slowly) later in the week, city officials suggest taking a visit to your local indoor pool if you want to cool down.
Both the Robert A. Lee Recreation Center at 220 S. Gilbert Street and the Scanlon Gymnasium / Mercer Park Aquatic Center at 2701 Bradford Drive will be open and blissfully air conditioned tomorrow.
You can receive temporary relief from the heat by hitting these two city recreation areas, as they are open during the hottest hours of the day on week days. The Recreation Center is open from 6:00 a.m. to 10 p.m on weekedays and the Mercer Pool building is open from 6:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
