Akeel Lynch Makes His Decision

With a running back position that loses players in a similar fashion to the way Spinal Tap lost drummers, Iowa Hawkeye fans could be excused for hoping that Penn State running back recruit Akeel Lynch would renege on his commitment to the troubled Lions and head west.

But sorry Hawkeyes, no dice.

"I will be wearing #22 in Blue&White jersey come Sept. 1st," said Lynch on his Twitter account.

The decision leaves last year's fourth string running back and first string full back at the tops of the depth chart as fall practice has begun, with not much proven depth behind them. They will be challenged for playing time most likely by running back recruits Barkley Hill, of Cedar Falls, and Greg Garmon, of Erie, Pennsylvania.
