Now all three living suspects involved with undercover state drug enforcement officials at the Breckinridge Estates Trailer Court have been arrested and are in custody.

Another man, Ivan Carl Hardemon, 24, died on Thursday from what was most likely a gunshot wound after the four men were in a confrontation with the undercover agents near Trailer 7C 4494 Taft Ave. SE.

According to criminal complaints filed in Johnson County District Court, the men had known the undercover officers were arriving at the trailer court to make a large drug purchase. As the officers were about to make the buy, two of the men emerged from the trailer: one with a handgun, the other with a club, and threatened the officers.

In the ensuing shooting, Hardemon was killed and Demarco Quintae Dudley, 22, address unknown, was wounded. The men fled and police believe Demarco was driven by his brother Norman Jared Dudley, 20, of 1121 Gilbert Court, Iowa City to another location where he was droppped off and the car was abandoned.

A third man who is believed to be the scene at the time of the incident was John Mulbah, 1305 Sunset Street, Apt. #7. He was found Friday, and after barricading himself into the building, was arrested after police used tear gas to subdue him.

Mulbah was charged with felony cocaine distribution for selling 10.1 grams of cocaine for $850 to an undercover Division of Narcotics Enforcement Special Agent on Davis Street on Aug. 13 at 4:00 p.m., according to a criminal complaint.

Norman Dudley, who turned himself in on Sunday night, was also charged with felony cocaine distribution for selling 14.1 grams of cocaine base for $950 near the K-Mart at 901 Hollywood Boulevard at 5:39 p.m. on Aug. 14.

According to Vanessa Miller of the Gazette, Norman Dudley appeared in court for the first time on Monday.

Norman Dudley said little during his initial appearance Monday morning, telling the judge “yes sir” and “no sir,” and saying he doesn’t know whether he’s going to apply for a public defender or hire a private attorney.

Meanwhile, Demarco Dudley received a more serious charge of first-degree robbery, likely making him one of the two men who allegedly threatened the officers at the trailer court. The exact nature of his transgression has yet to be revealed, however.

Demarco Dudley is being held in the on a $100,000 cash bond, while his brother Norman Dudley is being held on a $25,000 bond. Meanwhile, John Mulbah is being held on a $50,000 bond.

The two officers were unharmed during the incident. They were placed under administrative leave, which is standard procedure after shootings by law enforcement.
