American Barnstormers to Bring Historical Planes to Eastern Iowa Airport Tomorrow
The public will have a chance to see some historic American Barnstormers planes tomorrow at Iowa City's Eastern Iowa Airport

City Release
The American Barnstormers -- a group of pilots with an affinity for the "Golden Age of Aviation" between World War I and the United States' entry into World War II -- have just notified the Iowa City Municipal Airport that some of their pilots will be making a stop at the airport tomorrow (Thursday, August 30) as part of their American Barnstormers Tour.
The public is invited to visit the airport beginning at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday to experience a part of aviation history and get a close-up view of several historical open-cockpit, biplane aircraft from the 1920s, 30s and 40s that will be on display. Barnstormer pilots not only fly vintage open-air aircraft, they also recreate the era with period costumes, aircraft signage, and vintage props while sharing historical information about this important age of aviation.
The planes and pilots will be departing the Iowa City Municipal Airport at approximately 2:30 p.m., headed for the Antique Airfield in Blakesburg, Iowa.
