
Judy A. Semler, 55, died Thursday March 21st at Mercy Hospital following a sudden illness.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, March 25th at Zion Lutheran Church with Rev. Mark Pries officiating. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service in Iowa City. In lieu of flowers, the Judy Semler Memorial Fund has been established.
Judy was born June 25, 1957 in Iowa City, the daughter of Keith and Luella Jensen Fuhrmeister. She attended Olin High School in Olin, IA. On July 19, 1980, Judy married Benny Semler in Iowa City.

She had been employed at Sheller-Globe. For many years Judy has been a Mary Kay Cosmetic representative.
Judy was a very loving, selfless and caring wife, mother, and friend. Most important to Judy was her devotion to her family. She will be greatly missed.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to the Johnson County VNA for the care they provided to Stephanie, Benny and Judy’s daughter.
Survivors include her loving husband Benny; their daughter, Jodie (John) O’Connell of Solon; three grandchildren, Andrew and Madison Mullinnix and Maxwell O’Connell; her step-mother, Mary Fuhrmeister; five brothers, Dave (Nikki) Fuhrmeister, Cliff (Sue) Fuhrmeister, Phillip (Gay) Fuhrmeister, Keith (Anita) Fuhrmeister and Tom Fuhrmeister; father-in-law, Harold Semler; sisters and brother-in-law, Janice Semler and Steve (Deb) Semler; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Judy was preceded in death by her son Jeff (2011) and daughter Stephanie (2012); her father, Keith Fuhrmeister and mother and step-father, Luella and Fred Jensen; and her mother-in-law, Vella Semler.
