AOC: WTH? Posing with Susan Sarandon, Who Supported Jill Stein?

Male friends have told me AOC should talk less and listen more. I've vigorously defended her, but then AOC posed with Susan Sarandon. OMG.

Remember when Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) said of Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) when he wanted her to stop talking and she wouldn't? "And yet she persisted," he murmured in his basso profundo. The sentence "and yet she persisted" became a meme for feminists who are often told to shut up and listen to male authority figures. (#TimesUp).

In a similar vein, some of my elderly male friends began criticizing Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NYC). One eighty-two-year-old friend who I normally respect quite a bit said that she should talk less and listen more. I was astonished when my husband agreed with him. I defended her once again.

And then AOC, already known by her initials like the Notorious RBG despite AOC's youth (29 or 30 years old), posed with actress Susan Sarandon. Sarandon voted for Jill Stein and said she was glad that Trump beat Hillary Clinton in 2016. The Guardian savaged Susan Sarandon and legitimately so. I think AOC should posture with self-indulgent, Trump-enabling Hollywood stars less and listen more.

I read about a study that said one of the reasons Republicans despise Democrats is because they pose with Hollywood celebrities who are rich, famous, and good-looking, and for those reasons think that they know far more than they actually do. Hollywood stars tend to be leftists except for stars like Clint Eastwood, who is famous, politically, for talking to a chair at a big GOP campaign event. Susan Sarandon is as brilliant politically as Clint Eastwood. I'm not sure who is the better actor, but both should stick to their primary line of work.

Jill Stein consorted with the Russians just as Donald Trump did. She sat right next to Trump's campaign manager Michael Flynn and near Vladimir Putin at a Moscow gala celebrating a Russian news organization, RT. Susan Sarandon is not someone AOC should embrace.
