Bill Adams Photography is the Winner of our Readers' Choice Iowa City Photographer Challenge

If we ever have a Readers' Choice contest as fun as our last one I will be very happy indeed.

won out in the voting Sunday in our challenge to determine Iowa City's after battling it out for two weeks with Dewey Street Photography.

The best part of the contest, however, turned out to be the participation of several in the photographers in the area in a gallery, and in many others adding their names to our list making it a mini directory of sorts. While the contest was all in good fun, hopefully the main takeaway from it was an increased awareness for a lot of the great photographic work being done in this area.

After my fiance's dog, Ares, received a diagnosis of bone cancer last year, I knew Dawn from Dewey Street Photo Company had to be the one to take "Farewell, Ares" photos, so I flew her to Utah for the session. Yup, I chose to fly in a photographer from halfway across the country instead of choosing one of the many talented Salt Lake City photographers for the task. It was one of the best decisions I ever made. Though Ares has left us, we'll always have the stunningly beautiful images Dawn captured of him. Make no mistake, these aren't your standard pet photos; these are pieces of art that happen to have a dog in them. My vote is ALWAYS with DSPC!
