Hello, my name is Gabriela Weir and I am a professional chef. I work as a personal chef and am truly in love with my work. Helping people attain a healthier relationship with food is incredibly pleasing. I particularly enjoy cooking for the picky eaters in the family. Hiding veggies in smoothies, juices and sauces is my specialty!
The exclusivity of private dinner parties or cooking lessons is also something I quite enjoy. The restaurant life, although thrilling and fast paced, can be hard on the body and the mind. Being able to walk the markets to hand-pick the best produce and shake hands with the growers is wonderful. Cooking in a different home-kitchen each time must be overwhelming, you may wonder. Although it can be quite challenging at times, each kitchen has different space and features, the experience is quite rewarding. I learn to work with what I have at hand and to be resourceful. Overall, working privately allows me to connect with people and that is invaluable to me.
