Chik-Fil-A Gay Marriage Fight Spreads to Iowa
In no other time has a decision to eat something in a mall food court carried such enormous political implications.

Chik-Fil-A, a restaurant chain once known primarily for its decent chicken selection and annoying cow ads has in recent weeks become a beachhead in the long culture war over gay marriage.
Today was Chik-Fil-A appreciation day in strip malls and mall food courts across this country. The national effort, spearheaded by former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, was intended to support the restaurant chain after comments from the company's CEO Dan Cathy indicating that he and the company opposed same-sex marriage led to political pushback from gay-rights organizations and liberal mayors.
The company also was opposed beyond this that oppose gay marriage. For this reason, local gay marriage supporters protested at the Chik-Fil-A in Coralville's Coral Ridge Mall earlier this month.

But today belonged to the gay marriage opponents in Iowa, with long lines of Chik-Fil-A supporters reported at the restaurant locations and .
Not to be outdone, LGBT groups across the nation have organized a National Same Sex Kiss Day for this Friday, to be held at local Chik-Fil-A locations all over the country.
