Organizations or individuals interested in applying for $1,000 and up in City funding for events, programs, or festivals that will be scheduled in the next fiscal year (between July 1, 2014 and June 30, 2015), may now pick up applications at the City Manager's Office in City Hall, or access them on the City's website at www.icgov.org/eventfunding. The applications must be completed and returned by 5 p.m. on Friday, November 8, 2013.
Applications must be typed or completed online. Handwritten applications will not be accepted. Completed forms may be mailed or dropped off to: City Hall, Attn: Cyndi Ambrose, 410 E. Washington Street, Iowa City, IA 52240 or e-mailed to cyndi-ambrose@iowa-city.org. If your application is e-mailed, you are advised to call 319/356-5050 to confirm that it has been received.
A City staff committee will review all requests received by the deadline and make a funding recommendation to the City Council, which must grant final approval. Applicants may address the City Council regarding the committee's recommendations at the budget hearings scheduled in early 2014, if they so choose.
Individuals, groups, or organizations that want to request less than $1,000 in event funding for FY15 may submit those applications year-round and are not subject to the November 8 deadline.
