Dan Sabers Still Had No Input into Football Decisions, Still Upset

Dan Sabers, a City High football coach and teacher, stood up to speak again at the June 10, 2014 board meeting.

"Your motion approves [7th-grade] flag football," he said. "Again, I had no input into this decision at all. I worry more about flag football because there will be no helmets or pads. The kids will still be running for the ball, and BAM! There will still be collisions and head injuries.... You have to delay this decision for a year so you can get it right."

Needless to say, that isn't going to happen.

Is there any more the district and the board can do to destroy teacher morale? As Phil said, they've already let teachers go for the summer without giving them contracts. Decisions have already been made, so was there any need to leave teachers in limbo? Will the contracts be mailed to teachers instead, costing unnecessary postage? That's more wasted money if the money is spent on postage for hundreds of teachers. If contracts aren't signed until the second day of school, that isn't good either.
