David Dude: "Just Because a City High Parking Lot Goes into the Area Where Hoover Elementary Was Doesn't Mean That's Why Hoover Was Closed."

In the 7/16/13 Iowa City Community School District Board of Directors work meeting, which was televised, David Dude said, "I don't think you can assume that just because a parking lot for City High goes into the area where Hoover Elementary School was doesn't mean that that's why Hoover was closed."

These are the kind of off-the-cuff comments I just love. Every once in a while you get a breathtaking insight into how school district administrators think.

Here's another one. Craig Hansel talked about his worry about not having enough money to do all the new building that he'd like to do. He talked about removing teachers from classrooms to balance the budget. Really, Craig? 

Is this more of your thinking about "educational adequacy"? How it has more to do with physical structures and less to do with books and teachers in the classroom?
