Iowa Ethics Board Sends Slockett Appeal of Reprimand to Administrative Law Judge

An ethics case involving Johnson County Auditor Tom Slockett will continue after a ruling today.

Johnson County Auditor Tom Slockett will have the opportunity to continue an appeal of a state reprimand.

Slockett, who lost in the to hold his seat, had been reprimanded for using his phone to campaign from work. Slockett appealed the reprimand in June.  

The Iowa Ethics and Campaign Disclosure Board voted unanimously today to appoint an administrative law judge to hear the case. They also had the option of dismissing the appeal.

Slockett had a with local party leaders with the ethics complaint being the latest cause for concern.
