Floating BunnyHead Release Party + Art Opening

RAYGUN Iowa City is pleased to present the release party and art opening for Jonathan Sims’ debut comic book, Floating BunnyHead #1. Please join us on Friday, April 20th from 5 to 7p.m. for the exhibition opening and to meet the artist. Copies of Sims’ comic book will be on sale as well as a limited edition shirt printed on-demand by RAYGUN. A collection of Sims’ paintings and digital prints will be on display through May 3rd.

Floating BunnyHead is written and illustrated by Jonathan Sims. Sims lives in North Liberty, Iowa where he works as a digital artist and has spent every moment of his spare time for the past year finishing his first book. Floating BunnyHead has been showing up in Sims’ artwork since he popped into existence in the form of a college newspaper comic strip. FBH and the gang are guaranteed to appear in future paintings, drawings and comic books as Sims already has their next adventures in mind.

Floating BunnyHead stars a quartet of eccentric cartoon characters with an uncanny knack for making new enemies wherever they go. Sims describe's the book’s subject matter as somewhere between Aqua Teen Hunger Force and the Ninja Turtles. The book contains some alcohol use, blood, and violence, so it isn’t recommended for younger readers.

Floating BunnyHead Chapter #1 is 40 full-color pages and is being published through Ka-Blam.com, an on-demand comic book printing service. FBH #1 will also be for sale at Alter Ego, Daydreams, and online at the time of the show.

Please visit floatingbunnyhead.com for more information on Sims' art and comics.
