PATV Channel 18 Opens Its Doors During the Ralston Creek Fair & Flea Market
PATV is pleased to be participating in Uptown Bill’s 10th Anniversary celebration during the Ralston Creek Fair and Flea Market on Monday, September 5th, 2011.
The station is inviting people to drop in during the fair any time between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. (PATV is located just beneath Uptown Bill’s at 206 Lafayette Street in Iowa City.)
The Open House will include live music performed by longtime PATV producer Tom Nothangle of “Tom’s Guitar Show,” on-camera interviews with Yale Cohn from “Talking With,” screenings of some of PATV’s best original and locally-produced programming, and a free Guidelines Workshop at 2 p.m.
Participants in the Guidelines Workshop (a prerequisite to more advanced technical workshops) will receive a free one-year membership to the station allowing them to create and produce their own shows.
Visitors will also have the chance to meet and talk with friendly PATV staff, tour the station and learn about its capabilities and learn how they can become active participants in creating local community media.
