Ruth Harkin--attorney, business leader, member of the Iowa State Board of Regents, and wife of U.S. Senator Tom Harkin-- will give a public address entitled "What's at Stake for Women in the 2012 Presidential Election?" Ms. Harkin, one of the first women in the U.S. to be an elected prosecutor, has been an advocate and role model for women. Refreshments, live music, and conversation will follow the lecture, which is sponsored by Iowa City Women for Obama, a grassroots organization dedicated to building community among women and supporting President Obama's re-election campaign.
