This one hour class will begin with sun salutations and a few standing postures (yang) to warm the body before focusing on yin postures. Yin postures are held between one and four minutes and work ligaments, bone and other connective tissue while allowing muscles to relax. This technique can do much to open joints and increase flexibility while in a still, meditative state. Non-movement poses help us focus on the breath; the breath calms the mind, which further relaxes and nourishes the body.
