Game On: Iowa Makes NIT, to Host Dayton
After a five year draught of post season play of any kind, the Iowa Hawkeyes were selected as a seven seed in the National Invitation Tournament and will host number two seed Dayton.

Matt Gatens was disappointed not to make the NCAA Tournament in his last try as a Hawkeye, but at least he'll have a chance to make waves in a post season tournament.
The Iowa Hawkeyes were selected for the National Invitation Tournament (NIT) Sunday. The NIT, the little brother of the main NCAA tournament, is nontheless broadcast on ESPN and boasts a final in New York at Madison Square Garden.
Iowa will host higher seed Dayton because Dayton's arena is being used in the NCAA tournament. The game will be at 6:30 p.m. this Tuesday at Carver Hawkeye Arena and broadcast on ESPN. Dayton one 20 games this year and is a perenially tough mid-major squad.

The winner of the Iowa versus Dayton game will face Oregon or LSU in the second round.
