Grant Wood Early Spring Farmers Market Opens This Saturday
That's right, there's a snowstorm this week and Iowa City is still managing to pull off a farmers market. Enjoy an early taste of farmers market season this Saturday at Grant Wood Elementary.

Media Release
If you're missing the foods, handmade crafts, and camaraderie of the Iowa City Farmer's Market, make plans to head to the first early spring market this Saturday, March 9, at Grant Wood Elementary School, 930 Lakeside Drive in Iowa City, from 10 a.m. to noon.
The off-season markets will be held four times in March and April, and will feature many of the vendors who participate in the Iowa City Farmer's Market, which opens May 1.
Stop by for seasonal fresh produce - including some items that farmers and vendors may not be able to offer during the summer markets - as well as a variety of homemade baked goods, gluten-free items and other foods, plants and herbs, recycled products, furniture, jewelry, and many unique handmade gifts. An estimated 35 vendors will participate.
Future Grant Wood Market Place dates are March 23, April 13, and April 27. Admission is free.
The markets are sponsored by the Iowa City Parks and Recreation Department. For more information, contact Cindy Coffin at 319/356-5100 or cindy-coffin@iowa-city.org.
