How to Register to Vote in Iowa City
In honor of National Voter Registration Day, we're giving you all the information you need on how and where to register to vote.

Today is National Voter Registration Day, and thousands of local, state and national organizations have mobilized to make sure millions of people don’t miss the chance to cast their vote in this year’s elections.
Six million people didn’t vote in the 2008 elections because they either did not know how to register or because they missed the voter registration deadline.
Election Day registration took effect in Iowa on Jan. 1, 2008, according to the Johnson County Auditor's Office. There is a voter pre-registration deadline of 10 days prior to primary and general elections and 11 days before all other elections, but you can register after the deadline using the election day registration procedure.

- Fill out a voter registration form in person at the Johnson County Auditors Office, 913 S. Dubuque St. No. 101.
- Download a voter registration form from at this link: http://www.johnson-county.com/auditor/voter/vrform.pdf and mail it to Johnson County Auditors Office, 913 S. Dubuque St. No. 101.
- The forms are also available at locations throughout the county.
