Iowa City Library Recommends: A Hike in the Wild with Some Painful Lessons

Every Friday we feature some Staff Picks from the Iowa City Public Library that you can check out on the weekend. This week we spoke with Maeve Clark, a reference librarian at the , who recommends the book "Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail" by Cheryl Strayed.

Clark said "Wild," the true story of Strayed's painful, yet enlightening, hike along the Pacific Crest Trail is so popular that the library has fifteen copies and still it can be difficult finding a copy. That's alright, though, because Clark promises the book is such a page turner it should return to the library at a rapid rate.
