Iowa City Office Of Equity & Human Rights Issues Memo On Appearance Discrimination In Workplace

The City's Office of Equity and Human Rights has written a memo on the issue of appearance discrimination in the workplace, one of the most common areas of discrimination and one of the least acknowledged.

Although appearance discrimination is not currently illegal, there are active court cases pending when the discriminatory behavior is tied to a person's protected class, such as natural hair or weight.
