Iowa City Woman Faces Child Endangerment, Other Charges for Allegedly Letting 15-Year-Old Smoke Marijuana at Residence
The crimes allegedly took place in March and May.

An Iowa City woman is facing a variety of charges after being accused of making a string of bad decisions.
According to Iowa City Police criminal complaints, Heather Louise Osburn, 38, was arrested and charged with child endangerment, drug possession, and permitting the use of drugs in a residence, after she allegedly let a 15-year-old smoke marijuana in her home on March 23.
The police report states that officers were called to Osburn's residence at 359 Willowind Pl. for the report that a juvenile was smoking marijuana in her residence. Although the juvenile had reportedly left by the time officers arrived, they did find marijuana flakes, unrolled cigar papers and pipes with marijuana residue on them, and one adult resident admitted to being under the influence of marijuana at the time, according to the complaint.

All of these charges are misdemeanors of varying degrees of severity, with permitting the use of drugs and child endangerment being the most serious as they are aggravated misdemeanors.
