Iowa City Police: Man Stole Animal Shelter Donation Jar
Johnson has been convicted of theft twice before.
Police say a homeless man stole a donation cup from a gas station counter.
Louis Johnson, 42, is charged with third degree theft. He's been convicted on theft charges two other times.
Authorities say a security camera at , 1310 S. Gilbert St., shows Johnson stealing the animal shelter donation jar from the counter. Store staff reportedly estimated there was about $30 in the jar.
