Iowa City Police: Repeat Domestic Abuser Harassed and Hit Woman, Pulled Out Her Hair, During Two Hour Argument
A man with a history of domestic abuses charges was charged again for an incident on Friday morning.

An Iowa City man with multiple domestic abuse convictions on his record was accused of felony domestic abuse Friday morning after an argument with a woman turned ugly.
According to an Iowa City Police Complaint, police responded to the 1400 block of S. First Avenue at 1:44 a.m. this morning for the report of a domestic assault.
There they met the accused assailant, Clinton Ahmad Carter III, 24, and the woman he had been involved in a dispute with, according to the complaint. The woman told police that Carter had become upset with her over some alcohol, and at that point they began a fight that lasted two hours. The woman said that Carter blocked her exit and locked the door, prevented her from calling the police by knocking the phone out of her hand, threatened to kill her, and followed her from room to room, continuing to assault her.

According to the complaint, the woman said Carter punched her and pulled her hair several times, leaving clumps of hair later found by the police in several of the rooms. Police say the woman also had significant swelling in her forehead area. The woman eventually escaped and ran to a nearby Wendy's for help.
Carter had a scratch on his arm that was consistent with a defensive wound, according to the complaint. He also appeared intoxicated upon contact with police.
