Iowa City Police: Woman Accused of Stabbing Boyfriend with Meat Fork
The woman was charged for felony going armed with intent for the incident that allegedly occurred on Monday afternoon.

An Iowa City woman faces a felony charge after she allegedly stabbed her boyfriend in the arm with a meat fork.
Police charged Jalisa Kay Gray, 19, of 3500 block Shamrock Place with going armed with intent, a felony, and domestic abuse with intent or display of a weapon, an aggravated misdemeanor, after a fight with her boyfriend allegedly took an ugly turn.

According to a criminal complaint, police responded to the above residence at 1:46 p.m. on Feb. 27 with the report from a man that his girlfriend had just stabbed him and he was bleeding. The officer who arrived on scene noticed puncture wounds in the mans arm and a large meat fork with pointed ends sitting on the living room floor. The man told the officer that the meat fork was what he had been stabbed with.
After further interviews with the man and Gray, the officer determined that Gray had allegedly tried to pull the man out of a chair and throw a spray can at him after she suspected him of talking to another woman on he phone. After a struggle ensued over the spray can, the man allegedly choked Gray and pried away the spray can, going away into the living room to get away from Gray. Gray then allegedly followed the man back into the room and choked him, and the man punched her. Following this, Gray went back into the kitchen and grabbed a meat fork, stabbing the man in his arm.

Gray allegedly admitted to police that she had "poked" the man because she was "mad" at him.
Gray and the man live together at the residence with their child, according to the criminal complaint.
