Iowa City's Verum Magazine Receives a National Grant, Working on New Digital-Only Issue

A magazine started by students at the University of Iowa has received funding from Campus Progress. Will receive its first fully digital issue this coming Monday.


Verum Magazine is still going after it debuted last year, and it just received national funding to expand its operations.

In a media release, Verum announced that it is using the grant from Campus Progress, a division of the Center for American Progress, to expand its resources in Iowa City and transition to a totally digital product readable on computer and tablet.

by University of Iowa students, Verum Magazine is intended to provide coverage on fashion, sports, music, politics and other topics that a college-aged audience will be interested in. According to the release, entering into this fall semester, 30 students are currently working with Verum, which includes both the magazine production and Verum Media, a new marketing and advertising operation created by the magazine's founders.

Verum Magazine's first digital issue is set to be released this coming Monday, Aug. 20.
