Iowa City School District Seeking Input from Vendors, Public on Future Grounds Care

Could changes be in the making for Iowa City School District's grounds care?

The Iowa City Community School District will be holding a meeting next Monday seeking community and vendor input on its future plans for grounds care at the school district.

A meeting for public input is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Educational Services Center at 1725 North Dodge Street this Monday, August 20.

Grounds care has been a hot topic for many school board regulars who contend that the district could maintain its grounds for less than what is being charged currently by the district's current grounds care vendor, Quality Care Lawn Care.

David Dude, the district's director of operations, said in a meeting earlier this summer that he would investigate if these lower cost options were feasible.
