As the novel rounded to a close, there was mention of unrequited love, cicadas, heat, the World Cup, Mennonite singers, a random dead body that appeared and disappeared, a box with a replica of the Englert Theatre, an important letter, and of course, a knife wielding and mysterious dog named Mr. Dog.
You can read the end of the novel here. The project was part of the Iowa City Book Festival, a three-day event which ended on Sunday evening.
