Man Allegedly Throws Phone Into Fiancé's Face: Iowa City Police Blotter, March 19

A Coralville man is accused of domestic abuse assault without intent causing injury after he allegedly threw his phone into his fiance's face.

Police responded to reports that a woman had been assaulted at her residence at 2:30 a.m. on March 18. They found the woman was the intersection of Linn Street and Iowa Avenue. According to the criminal complaint, it looked as if the woman had been running for a long time and appeared frightened. She also had a bruised and swollen right eye, according to the report.

The woman told the officers that she had gotten into a fight with her fiance, John F. Lee a.k.a. "Buzz", 31, of Coralville and he had allegedly thrown his phone at her face hitting her eye, and pushed her to the ground. According to the complaint, the two have been dating for three years and living together for two years until about six months ago.
