Man Stabbed Friday Night, Iowa City Police Seeking Person of Interest
Police say they have a person of interest in the stabbing and that he may be attempting to leave the city to return to his hometown of Chicago.

Iowa City Police are looking for more info on "a person of interest" who may have been involved in a stabbing incident during a fight last night near the intersection of Burns Avenue and Taylor Drive.
Police say they were originally called to the area at 9:40 p.m. for a report of a fight, when they received a second call from a man who said he had been stabbed. The man directed officers to where he was at , 1901 Broadway St. #3, and officers after a short search found a man who had been stabbed near this address. The man was transported to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for treatment of non fatal injuries.
After interviewing the man, police determined that the original fight had been at 1219 Burns Ave., and when the man was stabbed he had fled to a second address to safely call police.

Police say they are looking for a Javoni M. Butler, 31, a black male five foot, seven inches tall, weighing 190 pounds, who was described as wearing dark colored shorts and a shirt. Police say they believe Butler lives in Chicago and may be trying to return there, so they are trying to find him before he leaves Iowa City.
Iowa City Area CrimeStoppers is offering a reward of up to $1000 for information about this incident or Butler's whereabouts. Anyone with information about this crime is urged to contact CrimeStoppers at 358-TIPS (8477). All calls are confidential, and a person's identity does not need to be revealed to collect the reward money.
