No Injuries in Sycamore Street Fire that Caused $75,000 in Damage to Home
The fire department responded to the fire Tuesday night.

There were no injuries in a Tuesday night fire that caused severe damage to a home on Sycamore Street.
According to an Iowa City Fire Department press release, fire fighters were called to a fire at 1418 Sycamore St. at 10:14 p.m. Two engines, one ladder truck, and a Battalion Chief responded to the scene, and first responders reported seeing heavy smoke and fire coming out of the two story, single-family home. All occupants were out of the home as the fire fighters arrived.
The fire was brought under control rapidly and extinguished within an hour. There were no injuries to civilians or fire fighters, according to the release. One occupant of the home was displaced and assisted by the Red Cross.

The Iowa City Fire Department estimates that $75,000 of damage was caused by the fire. The cause is still under investigation by the department.
