Iowa City Police: North Liberty Woman Shoots Heroin with Her 4-year-old Present
A fourth offense for "possession of controlled substance"

A woman in North Liberty has been accused of shooting up heroin in a pharmacy bathroom in front of her 4-year-old child, according to a report by the Press-Citizen.
Iowa City Police responded to a report of a “person acting strangely” from Towncrest Pharmacy at 9:19 this morning.
Witnesses saw Tiffany J. Lewis, 30, go into a bathroom with her child for several minutes and came out appearing “to be under the influence of drugs" and then asked for a container to dispose the used syringes.

When officers tried to speak with Lewis, she backed away concealing a Crown Royal bag behind her back.
Police say they found a spoon with residue on it and some kind of powdered substance. Lewis wasn’t sure if it was heroin or methamphetamine; a presumptive test by police showed the substance was heroin.

Lewis was taken into custody and faces charges of possession of a controlled substance and child endangerment without injry. Police said Lewis has been convicted of possession of a controlled substance in 2006, 2009, and 2010.
