Not Registered to Vote? No Problem: League of Women Voters Holding Voter Registration Drive this Weekend

Get registered to vote, or forfeit your American right to complain about the person you voted for not winning when they totally should have.

From the League of Women Voters

Need to register to vote?

Come to one of three sites staffed by League of Women Voters of Johnson County volunteers on Saturday, September 28, 2013, for forms and help: the Iowa City Public Library foyer and the Coralville Public Library foyer from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the Mercer Park Recreation Center Meeting Room from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Already registered?  Persons already registered in Johnson County need not register again unless they have changed either their names or their home addresses.  Persons who currently reside in Johnson County but are registered in another county or state may continue to vote there, in person or by absentee ballot; but if they wish to vote in Johnson County, they need to register here.  Students attending colleges in Iowa may also either continue to vote in their former home counties or register in Johnson County, but may not vote in both.

Not in town September 28? Not a problem!  Residents can walk into the office of the Johnson County Auditor any time to register, or they can visit the Auditor's website at http://www.johnson-county.com and register online.

"Our organization was founded just after women won the right to vote in 1920,"said LVWJC President Barbara Beaumont.  "We encourage all our Johnson County residents to let their voices be heard by exercising their right to vote."
