Police Arrest Man Who Allegedly Head Butted an Officer -- And Police Car -- in Iowa City

A North Liberty man allegedly injured a police officer and shattered the window in a squad car during his arrest on Sunday.

A North Liberty man allegedly head butted a police officer and shattered a window in the police squad car with his head, while being arrested on Sunday.

Christopher Robin Ross, 24, of North Liberty, was charged with third-degree criminal mischief, an aggravated misdemeanor, and assault causing bodily injuries to police officers, also an aggravated misdemeanor, as well as public intoxication, all for an offense that allegedly occurred at 1:14 a.m., Oct. 23.

The UI police reported that they arrested Ross at the above address for public intox and criminal mischief due to his "fighting behavior." When the officers arrested Ross, he allegedly refused to get into the squad car, kicking and head butting a police officer, giving him a bump above his left eye.

Ross, once in the vehicle, allegedly also head butted the rear passenger window, shattering it and causing $800 worth of damage.
