Police: Iowa City Man Charged with Bootlegging, Theft After Stealing 51 Bottles of Grey Goose from Walmart
The man allegedly then resold the more than $1,000 worth of vodka to others, with some of the sales allegedly going to buyers under the legal drinking age.

An Iowa City man is facing charges of felony theft and bootlegging after he was allegedly caught in the act stealing bottles of Grey Goose Vodka from , 919 Highway 1 W.
According to Iowa City Police criminal complaints, police were called on Thursday to the above location for the report of a theft in progress.
Once officers arrived they were told by staff that the defendant, Mack Delonnie Blumingburg, 20, of Iowa City, had attempted to steal eight bottles of Grey Goose Vodka before being caught by Walmart staff.

According to criminal complaints, Blumingburg admitted under oath to stealing the vodka so he could resell it for $20 a bottle. He also allegedly admitted that some of the bottles went to people under the legal drinking age.
Walmart staff told the officers that they have been monitoring Blumingburg as he returned for more bottles on multiple occasions, allegedly stealing bottles on Aug. 10, Aug. 15, Aug. 27, Aug. 29, and Sept. 7. The total haul added up to 51 bottles for a value of $1,633.02. Police say Blumingburg admitted to only four of the thefts.

Blumingburg is now facing charges of second-degree theft, a Class D felony, and bootlegging, a serious misdemeanor.
As of Friday morning, Blumingburg was in the Johnson County Jail on $3,500 bond forfeiture.
