Police: Iowa City Woman Accused of Stealing More Than $1,000 from Elderly Acquaintance
The woman is accused of using an elderly man's bank card without permission to withdraw the money in a 24-hour period.

An Iowa City woman has been accused of felony unauthorized use of a credit card after she allegedly stole more than $1,000 from an elderly man who she knew.
According to an Iowa City Police criminal complaint, an elderly man contacted the police and reported that his bank card had been used several times without his authorization in Iowa City on June 27.
Police then spoke with Kerrie Marline Fraley, 50, of Iowa City, an acquaintance of the man who assists him with his daily living and has access to the home. Fraley allegedly admitted to taking the card and using it four times in the Iowa City area, withdrawing more than $1,000 in a 24-hour period.

Unathorized use of a credit card for less than $10,000 is a Class D felony, punishable by up to five years of incarceration and between $750 and $7,500 in monetary penalties.
Fraley was released from custody Monday morning according to the Johnson County Jail. Calls made to Fraley were not answered before the writing of this story.
