Police: Drunk Driver Nearly Hits Squad Car, Charged with Felony OWI: Iowa City Police Blotter, June 11

Craig Douglas Owsley, 32, of Iowa City is accused of felony operating while intoxicated third or subsequent offense and driving with a revoked license for an incident that allegedly occurred at 2:07 a.m. on Sunday morning at the intersection of Highway 6 and Taylor Drive.
Owsley was allegedly traveling near the 1900 of Broadway Street when he ran a stop sign and nearly hit a police vehicle. When stopped by an officer, Owsley appeared to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol, as he had glassy eyes and slurred speech, according to the complaint.

Owsley allegedly to drinking "mostly shots" that evening. He allegedly registered a blood-alcohol content of .221.
