Police: Iowa City Man Smoked Marijuana Around 3-Year-Old

A local man who allegedly lit up while his daughter was home faces a handful of charges.

Officers say they responded to reports of a fight at 1131 Clements Alley on Saturday night. Michael Oliphant, 25, of Iowa City, gave officers permission to search the home, according to a police report.

Police apparently smelled marijuana in the residence and Oliphant allegedly admitted to having recently smoked. Officers say Oliphant's 3-year-old daughter was at the home.

The child's mother, Larissa Rozean, was allegedly also at the home. She's being charged with child endangerment and keeping a drug house.

Oliphant is being charged with child endangerment, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and keeping a drug house.
