Preview of Tonight's Iowa City School Board Meeting
Two audits, school district wide problems, and the fate of the closed Roosevelt Elementary building (still up in the air, although the district has been leaning toward selling) are on the docket.

Tonight's Iowa City School Board meeting should be an interesting affair.
The meeting comes after an eventful early January period, seeing the early retirment of the director of human resources, head of lunch services and others and the resignation of the executive director of administrative services.

Also this month were two separate audits. which will be discussed tonight. One, the Synesi Audit, listed numerous concerns, including problems with the school lunch program. Another audit, by Dell Computers, raised concerns about the insufficient amount of resources the district devotes to technology.
Both audits will be discussed by the board tonight.

Also on the board agenda -- Roosevelt Elementary School. The district has been leaning toward selling the building, which is set to be closed at the end of the year, but the Roosevelt community would prefer the district repurpose it, or at the very least, that they help find a suitor that will fit well within the community. The matter likely won't be resolved tonight, but it's something to keep an eye on.
Turn in later tonight and tomorrow for Patch's coverage of the meeting.
