A Relative Arrangement: A Collection of Mother-Daughter Work
Midwest-based mother-daughter artists come together for a unique showing of assemblages at Chait Galleries.

Obscure found objects and images can do extraordinary things to a viewer. We are drawn to objects that inspire us, evoke nostalgia, pique our curiosity and send us to far off places, at times without our cognitive recognition of the object itself. This June the Chait Galleries Downtown presents “A Relative Arrangement: A Collection of Mother-Daughter Art” as Midwest based artists Cynthia Wolfe and Emily Wolfe exhibit unique assemblages fashioned from their compelling collections of images and objects.
Both Mother and Daughter have discovered that working through found imagery allows for the creation of a new meaning. Connecting formerly abandoned elements brings an entirely new coexistence, relationship and purpose to the aggregate. Cynthia and Emily’s works create a bond between the tangible and the unseen.
Opening reception for this exhibit is June 5th from 5-8 during Galley Walk in Downtown Iowa City.
Gallery Walk is a self-guided tour through over 20 participating businesses and galleries, featuring local and national works of art. Always free and fun for the whole family, pick up a map at any location and jump in the tour. Light refreshments and appetizers are served throughout.
