Roy Moore, U.S. Senate Candidate from Alabama, a Pedophile?
Roy Moore denies the allegations of four women who claim that he molested them when they were teenagers and he was 30-32 years old.
Alabaman Roy Moore, a current Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate, has been accused by four women of molesting them when they were teenagers aged 14 to 18, and he was 30 to 32. Roy Moore denies the allegations. The statute of limitations has passed, so no legal remedy can be pursued and the facts won't be unearthed by a legal or law enforcement team. However, Moore's candidacy is at stake.
Many Republican senators have stated that if the allegations are true, there's no place for Roy Moore in the U.S. Senate. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) said the same thing. Critics stated that it's unlikely that four women now in their fifties and from the Deep South would come forward with tales of being sexually molested by a prominent Southern politician if they weren't telling the truth. The women have already been exposed to criticism and ridicule by deniers and Moore supporters.
Hypocritically, Roy Moore has long and loudly proclaimed his concern for protecting children from sexual predators. In his estimation, pedophiles aren't presumably straight men like himself, but "homosexuals." Roy Moore is still called "Judge" Roy Moore even though he was fired from the Alabama Supreme Court twice for recklessly and stubbornly engaging in wanton illegal behavior. He began with a wooden plaque of the 10 commandments in his courtroom. Then he graduated to a massive monument of the ten commandments in the courthouse lobby, despite the Constitution's mandated separation of church and state. He wouldn't recognize the rights of same-sex couples to marry. Answering only to God, he might have done better to render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar's and render unto God the things that are God's.

Time will tell whether Roy Moore will survive politically. He comes from Alabama, after all, one of the reddest of red states. Predators tend to protect each other, so it's not surprising that Sarah Huckabee Sanders has already stated that Trump is questioning whether the women are telling the truth. Trump, of course, has been accused of sexual assault by even more women than have come forward to tell on Moore. Like Moore, Trump has denied everything.
